Frances Ruth Carter

Frances Ruth Carter passed away on August 10th, 2022 she was 96 years old. Frances was born on February 10th, 1926 in Chelsea, Oklahoma to Jess Clanton and Velma Watt Short. she grew up in Chelsea, Ok and attended Chelsea Public Schools graduating in the class of 1944.
She met John Carter during her high school years and the two were shortly married after Frances graduated high school. John and Frances had many wonderful years together. Some of her hobbies were reading, feeding the birds, working in her garden and yard work. She also loved taking trips to Branson, Missouri and going to Silver Dollar City,  watching Judge Judy, in her later years, swimming, listening to country music and enjoying cappuccinos and lattes. Frances was a long time member of the Blue Star Church of Christ since 1969.
She is preceded in death by her husband John Carter; parents Jess and Velma Clanton; sisters, Margie Carver, Vergie Fair, Mary Warren and brothers Jimmie Clanton.
Frances is survived by her daughter Kay Wilburn and husband Mike; brother John Clanton, wife Janet; sister Jane Todd ; brother in law Leon Warren; grandson, Don Butts and his wife Elda and three great grand children Marcia, Ana and Sophie.
