Frances Louise (Collins) Gardner went home to be with Jesus, August 7, 2024, she was 89 years old. She was born October 18, 1934, to David Newton Collins and Velma Angeline (Crain) Collins, in Claremore, Oklahoma. Louise graduated from Claremore High School in 1952. After graduating, she left Claremore to go to California where her sisters told her there was work so she could make enough money to pay college tuition, as it was her ambition to go into teaching music. While there, she met the love of her life. She and Earnest Junior Gardner were married September 21, 1952. To this union was born four children, David, Philip, Anita, and Colleen.
Her first love was making sure she was taking well care of her family as a housewife and mother. In later years, she would help the family financially by working publicly for Glen of Hollywood Studios doing photography as well as becoming a distributor for Shaklee Products. After returning to Claremore, she began working for Claremore Electric & Plumbing Supply. Her employment lasted seven years. She then went to work for Suburban Chevrolet as a warranty clerk. Life took her in a different direction when her two granddaughters needed to be cared for. She and Earnest began caring for Angela age two and Cynthia age one, later adopting them.
Louise never corrected her children without also giving them biblical reasons why she thought they needed the correction. She says if there was only one thing she could say of Earnest it would be she was thankful he introduced her to the wondrous truth of God's Word. She loves the Word of God and her Jesus. Always depending on Him.
