Memorial service for Frances Denyse Higgins will be 11 a.m., Wed., April 28, at the Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Chapel with Bro. Sam Nichols officiating.
Denyse died Sat., April 24, 2010, at St. Ann’s Home, Oklahoma City, at the age of 88.
The daughter of William Ruben and Myrta (Smith) Duty was born Jan. 15, 1922, in Goldthwaite, TX. Denyse graduated from Claremore High School, and continued her education at Oklahoma Baptist University, Shawnee. She met Bob Higgins her future husband at the Oklahoma Military Academy where he was an instructor. They were married at the First Baptist Church in Claremore. Denyse was a member of P.E.O. and the Aladdin Club. She taught Sunday school, and enjoyed reading and collecting antiques.
Denyse was preceded in death by her husband, Bob in 1980; and brother, Howard Duty.
She is survived by her children: Bill Higgins and wife, Cheryl of Claremore, and Cathey Cunningham and husband, Don of Oklahoma City; sister, Marianna McLean of Hot Springs, AR; grandchildren: Grier Higgins, Michael Higgins, Jeff Higgins, Stephen Higgins, and William Cunningham; and great-grandchildren: Katie Higgins, Bryan Higgins, Carter Higgins, Hailey Higgins, Merrick Higgins, Ryder Higgins, and Elle Cunningham.
