Born January 19th, 1944 in Gentry, Arkansas to Theodore Burl and Aubrey Louise (Stage) Waldrip, Fred attended school in Arkansas, graduating in 1962. He began his military career by joining the Air Force and honorably served his country from 1964-1968. He later enlisted with the US Army and retired in 1995. During his military duties, he served in the Vietnam War and Desert Storm, as well as duty stations in Germany and Korea. After his retirement, Fred worked at a machine shop for a time and was employed with Par-Fab in Inola.
Fred enjoyed time with his family, but he was most happy trying to catch some fish. He also loved reading, and during his retirement years, he read thousands of books, westerns being his favorite. While he was stationed in Germany and Korea, he and his family took many vacations, and were able to see many different countries.
Those family members that survive include his wife Norma; his children Stephen Lee Waldrip and wife Delilah of San Diego, and Sonya Kay Ward and husband David of Claremore; his grandchildren Keito, Matthew, Maski, Johnathan, Jacob, Nichols, and Gabriel; and one great-granddaughter on the way; and his brother Richard Waldrip also of Claremore.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents and brother Jackie Ray Waldrip.
