Freda L. Carter

Funeral service for Freda L. Carter will be 2 p.m., Thurs., Sept. 20, at the Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Chapel with Rev. Michael Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Washington Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wed. 1-8 p.m.

Freda went to be with the Lord on Sun., Sept. 16, 2012, at St. Francis Hospital, Tulsa, at the age of 75.

The daughter of Ernest and Ola (Corbit) Richardson was born March 22, 1937, in Hanson, OK. Freda attended school in Sallisaw; and on Aug. 4, 1953, married Tim Carter. They have made their home in Rogers County since 1969, and in Chelsea for the past 16 years. Freda was a homemaker; and enjoyed crossword puzzles, working in the yard, and fishing. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Three days before Freda passed away she was baptized and accepted Christ into her life.

Freda is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bobby Gene Richardson; and sisters: Donna Jean Adams and Mildred Jean Richardson.

She is survived by her husband, Tim of the home; children: Lt. Col. Tim Floyd Carter, Jr. and wife, Tammie of Claremore, Darell Wayne Carter of Chelsea, and Sheila Lynn Carter of Oologah; brothers: Ernest Wayne Richardson and wife, JoAnn of Sallisaw, and Jerry Don Richardson of Sallisaw; sisters: Nancy Sue Dial and husband, Wayne of Muskogee, and Carolyn Randoff and husband, Sam of Sallisaw; 8 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
