Memorial service for Freddie Allen Proctor will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 23, 2015 at the Sanctuary Christian Worship Center. Pastor Garry Wilson will officiate. Services are under the direction of Chelsea Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
Freddie passed away October 19, 2015 at Southcrest Hospital at the age of 63.
The son of Melvin and Juanita Erwin Proctor was born November 10, 1951 in Pryor, Oklahoma. He was raised in Chelsea and attended Chelsea Public Schools. There he participated in football and baseball, and was a member of the graduating class of 1969. Upon graduation Freddie joined the Army National Guard. He also wanted to continue his education so he enrolled at Northeastern A&M College in Miami. A short time later he married Katie Kelton. To this marriage two children were born, Jamie and Zach. Freddie made his home in Chelsea. He then began working in the construction industry for Flintco. This eventually led him to specifically working on elevators through out the country working out of the International Union of Elevators Constructors Local # 83. He retired in 2010.
In his spare time Freddie had many enjoyments; fishing and hunting, playing golf and cooking were a few. More recently he enjoyed playing in a local pool league, and raising bird dogs. However spending time with his children and grandchildren brought him his greatest enjoyments.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Juanita Proctor.
Survivors include his children, Jamie Proctor of Tulsa, and Zach Proctor and wife Angie of Chelsea; grandchildren, Alex Landrum, Kyle Proctor, Aidian Landrum and Gabby Proctor; brothers, Bill Proctor and wife Rita and Larry Proctor and wife Mary all of Chelsea; sisters, Joan Swaggerty and husband Joe and Sharon Proctor all of Chelsea, along with several special nephews, nieces and cousins.
