Graveside service for Fred C. Daugherty will be 10:00a.m., Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at Woodlawn Cemetery. Fred passed away on Friday, April 19 at his home with family by his side. He was 86.
Fredrick Carl Daugherty was born on December 28, 1937, in Vinita, Oklahoma, to Louis L. and Irene C. (Cass) Daugherty. He attended school in Ponca City, later receiving an associate degree from Rogers State College. Fred married Judith Ann Newman on February 26, 1966, and the couple has made Claremore home through the years.
Fred's career was marked by dedication and skill. He spent 26 years as an inspector at American Airlines before embarking on another chapter at Nordam upon his retirement from American Airlines. His commitment to excellence and attention to detail left a lasting impact on those around him.
In addition to his successful career, Fred also proudly served his country in the US Navy. His military service was a testament to his patriotism and sense of duty towards the nation he held dear.
Outside of work and education, Fred had a wide range of hobbies and interests that brought him joy. From woodworking to gardening, hunting, fishing, and his proficiency in maintaining computers, he possessed a diverse set of skills and passions that enriched his life. Fred’s love for the Lord impacted so many folks through the years. He was an active member of the Nazarene Church and enjoyed helping during Vacation Bible School and the bus ministry. He also served on the board at the church. Music was his passion and he played at church and his family sang.
Fred will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Irene Daugherty, his brother Bill Daugherty, sister Rita Vanhoose, as well as his two granddaughters Tara Stevens and Judith J. Daugherty.
Surviving Fred are his beloved wife Judy A. Daugherty; children Shondra Johnson, Cheryl Ford, Tammy Warren, Darrell Daugherty and his wife Jackie, Mike Daugherty and his wife Debbie; stepdaughter Kim Elledge and husband Jeff; grandchildren Michael Johnson, Christopher Warren, Dustin Ford, Andrew Daugherty, Trevor Daugherty, Josh Daugherty, Amy Daugherty; nephews, Larry Daugherty and Jay Daugherty; nieces, Christy Tull and Valerie Vanhoose, along with many great-grandchildren.
