Funeral service for Gary Wayne Kerr will be 10:00a.m., Monday, October 30, 2023, at MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel, burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.  Friends may visit at the funeral home on Sunday, October 29 from 1pm-6pm, with family will receive visitors from 3pm-6pm.  Gary passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023.  He was 62.


Gary Wayne Kerr was born on November 20, 1960, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, to Tommy William Kerr and Elva Pauline Sissom. Gary's education journey began at Coweta and concluded at Bartlesville. Following his education, he enlisted with the US Army and proudly served his country. Gary's strong work ethic was evident throughout his career. He initially worked as a welder at Stevens Welding, in Ramona, before transitioning to becoming a service advisor. He was last employed by Jim Norton Toyota.

Gary was known as a tireless worker who always strived to ensure that everything was prepared for the day ahead. He had an innate aversion to idleness and was constantly engaged in various projects. His commitment and dedication made him the first one to arrive at work every day.

Beyond his professional achievements, Gary had a vibrant personal life. He had a profound love for fishing, hunting, and four-wheeling. These hobbies allowed him to connect with nature and find solace in its beauty. But above all else, Gary adored spending time with his family, particularly his grandchildren. One of his favorite activities was teaching his children how to drive and taking them on drives together.

Gary also had a keen interest in American history and enjoyed listening to old country music. Artists like Merle and Johnny held special places in his heart. Their timeless songs provided comfort and joy during both happy and challenging times.

Gary is survived by his children Lindsey Cantrell (Justin), Katie Tessmann (J.D.), Jennifer Meenen (Tyler), Jessie Smithson (Michael), Bill Williams (Deshane) his grandchildren Cash Round, Cutter Cantrell, Macie Carron, Lilly Tessmann, Adleigh Tessmann, Corbin Keeler, London Keeler, Boston Keeler, Hunter Fetters, Haiden Fetters, Jaxsen Fetters. In addition to his grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Tommy Joe Kerr, Doris Byfield, Ed Kerr (Vickie), Rick Kerr, and David Kerr (Kim), along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Gary was preceded in death by his parents Tommy William Kerr and Elva Pauline Harris, brothers Ronnie Kerr and Robert Kerr. He was also predeceased by his stepfather Cleo Harris.
