Funeral service for Gary Don Sanders will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at the Inola Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery.

Gary Don Sanders passed away on Wednesday, September 25th, 2019 at the age of 60.

The son of Henry and Floriece Slead Sanders was born September 5, 1959 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. As a young boy Gary and his family moved to Siloam Springs, Arkansas and then to Tulsa. He would begin school in Tulsa before moving to Inola in the mid 1970's. Gary finished his high school years in Inola, graduating as a member of the class of 1977. After graduating Gary began his working career. He moved to Tulsa where he worked at places such as Hindrlider, dpMfg, and Gear products. In 2006 he met Christina Statsmann, and moved to Muskogee. They would later buy a house and move to Wagoner. It was also during this time that he began working for Mueller Metals in Wagoner. He has worked there for over 15 years, and was currently working as a warehouse manager.

In his spare time Gary had many hobbies. He loved traveling, especially through the mountains and the beach. He enjoyed fishing, and doing home remodels. However his favorite past time was playing the drums. Ever since he got his first drum set at the age of 14, Gary was hooked. Since high school he has played in several bands such as Smokey Lee and the Prison Gang, Interface, Majic Bus and the Living Roomers.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Floriece and brother Terry Sanders.

Survivors include his wife Christina of the home; sons, Jeremy, Trevor and Dakota Sanders, and Asher Statsmann; daughter, Aurora Statsmann and many other extended family and friends.
