Gary Patrick Smith

Memorial service for Gary Patrick "Pat" Smith will be 1 p.m., Wed., March 20, at Pleasant Hope Baptist Church, Adair, with Rev. Eddy Mathews officiating.

Pat passed away Thurs., March 14, 2013, at Tulsa Nursing Center at the age of 66.

The son of Louis Clinton "Buss" and Alice (Boykin) Smith was born Jan. 15, 1947, in Claremore. Pat joined the U.S. Navy in 1965 and was attached to Attack Squadron 44 at Naval Air Station Cecil Field, FL. After his military service Pat spent time working on off shore oil riggs in the Gulf of Mexico. He traveled and spent time in California before settling in Oklahoma and working in construction. In 1978, he married Patsy Juel Drake. They made their home in Foyil, until their divorce in 1995 when Pat moved to Chelsea. Pat always enjoyed fishing, pets, family, OU Sooners, Pittsburgh Steelers, and the New Orlean Saints.

He is preceded in death by his parents, L.C. "Buss" and Alice Smith; and grandparents: J. Frank and Myrtle Smith, and George and Robertta Chiles.

Survivors include his sister, Dorothy Couch; nephews: Kurt and Angie Bible, Matt and Laurie Bible, and Jim and Sherry Bible; former wife and lifelong friend, Patsy Drake Smith and her 3 sons; and a host of other nieces and nephews.
