Geneva (GG) Gilmore, age 88, was born on January 5, 1934 at Okay, Ok. She lived in Inola, OK most of her adult life with the love of her life, John. She died on February 9th , 2022 in Tulsa, OK.
GG began school in Boynton, OK where she excelled as a student and where her love of basketball began! John was her math teacher her senior year and he patiently waited until she was living in Tulsa and was going to a business school before he asked her out. A year later they were married. They moved to Osage, Ok after the birth of their first child, Danny. After the birth of Johnna, their second child, they moved to Inola, OK where John became the principal of Inola High School and GG became the secretary for the superintendent for many years. During that time they also had their third and final child, Penny. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, going on trips with her friends, walking and the outdoors.
After retirement, they spent many years traveling and enjoying their time together.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Gilmore; her parents Clyde & Nola Stacy; her sisters Windola Pope, Cordy Stacy, Bonnie Pride, her brother Butch Stacy; her son Danny Gilmore and her granddaughter Joy Baldwin, brother-in-laws James Driscoll and Bill Pride.
She is survived by: 2 daughters Johnna Robinson of Inola, OK and Penny Brabham and husband Ted of Atlanta, TX; 1 Daughter-in- Law, Jan Gilmore of Inola, OK. 3 Grandsons Troy Gilmore and wife Amy of Tiawah, OK, Rocky Fugate of Verdigris, OK and Teddy Brabham of Austin, TX. 2 Granddaughters Summer Tucker of Morrison, CO and Scarlet Brabham and fiancé Jess Johnson of Atlanta, TX. 3 Great Grandsons Ty Gilmore and wife Rachel of Norman, OK, Brock Fugate of Verdigris, OK and Kale Tucker of Morrison, CO. 5 Great Granddaughters Halley Gilmore of Tiawah, OK, Brooklynn Fugate of Verdigris, OK, Emma Brabham of Atlanta, TX, Cora Elmore of Atlanta, TX and Bristol Johnson of Atlanta, TX. 1 Sister Louis McGuire & husband Loyd of Tulsa, OK.
