Geneva Jane Hill

November 20, 1926 — March 10, 2010

Funeral service for Geneva Jane Hill will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 16, at the Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Chapel in Claremore with Rev. J.R. Sumter and Chaplain John Lay officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 6-8 p.m.

Geneva died Wed., March 10, 2010, at South Crest Hospital, Tulsa, at the age of 83.

The daughter of Henry William and Hazel Ida (Eagleton) Sumter was born Nov. 20, 1926, in Claremore. On Sept. 19, 1946, Geneva married Marion Leon Hill in Claremore. In the earlier years of their marriage the couple made their living farming and then she went on to hold various positions in light industry and manufacturing.
Geneva enjoyed quilting, crafts, fishing, gardening, and cooking. She was a member and officer of the Rebekah Lodge of Chelsea.

Geneva is preceded in death by her husband, a daughter Patricia Ann, her parents, 4 brothers, and 1 sister.

She is survived by her daughters: Carol Koeller and husband, Robert of Broken Arrow, and Janet Eaken and husband, Ken of Dallas, TX; brothers: Henry “J.R.” Sumter, Jr. and wife, Barbara and Kenneth Sumter and wife, Margaret all of Claremore; and sisters: Imogene Hale and husband, Glen, Mildred Fishback, Dorothy Bump, and Naomi Horton all of Claremore.
