Graveside service for George Ray Tune will be 2 p.m., Wed., Jan. 5, at the Catale-Moss Cemetery with Rev. Richard Billings officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of the Chelsea Funeral Home & Crematory.
George died Sat., Jan. 1, 2011, at his home at the age of 78.
The son of George Anderson and Ruth Jane (Craig) Tune was born Feb. 19, 1932. On June 29, 1973, George married Edith Marie Patton in Nowata. They made their home in Chelsea. George worked for Rauch Brothers Construction, retiring in 1983.
George is preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Ralph Tune, Floyd Tune, Estell, Lena Sue Ramsey, and Janie Winton; and grandsons: Ricky Whitworth and Brandon Criswell.
George is survived by his wife, Edith of the home; children: Jane Claggett, Roger Tune and wife, Delores of White Oak, Johnny Tune and wife, Sarah of White Oak, Nancy of White Oak, Patsy Weaver and husband, Kenny of Cleora, David Tune and wife, Susan of Springfield, MO, Robert Tune and wife, LaQuesta of Miami, LaWanda of Tahlequah, Janet Whitworth and husband, Jason of Chelsea, and Dolly Lewis of Tulsa; brothers: J.C. Tune and wife, Patsy of Big Cabin, and Shelby Tune of Joplin, MO; sisters: Lou Gibson of Sapulpa, and May Bell of Sapulpa; grandchildren: Jeannita, Faith, Piper, Matthew, Patience, Farrah, Kathy, Samantha, Crystal, Jessica, Mariah, Dalton, Bridget, Patricia, Debbie, Billy, Owen, Sherry, Clayton, Timmy, Amanda, Rryn, Tia, Emily, Justin, Matthew, Patrick, and Raul; and numerous great-grandchildren.
