Georgia June Murphy Bennett went to be with the Lord on the morning of March 15, 2025, after spending the previous days surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on December 9, 1934, in Collinsville, Oklahoma, to Edgar Orlan Murphy Sr. and June Hawkins Murphy. As the eldest of seven children, she grew up with a lot of responsibility working in the family bakery and watching over her siblings. She graduated from Collinsville High School. She married, had five children, and lived many years in Blackwell. Later, she moved to Tulsa and then to Claremore in 1979.

She was a homemaker, a loving Mom, Grandma, and GG. Her work included being an apartment manager, bookkeeper, and school cook while running a cattle farm. She worked diligently baling hay for neighbors and served on the Board for Rural Water District #7. She loved animals and, through the years, raised dogs, small and large exotic birds to help provide for her children.

She was a talented artist and loved to make Christmas ornaments for all her family. She had a heart of gold, wanted to please everyone, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to her family and neighbors. She could outwork two men without a doubt. Her love for the Lord and the unconditional love she had for everyone was an inspiration to us all. She was adored by all and will be missed dearly. We like to say, "She’s one of God’s favorites."

She is survived by her children; Murphy Sharon Yates and husband Joe of Muskogee, Tami Fasgold husband Clayton of Claremore, Ronda Scott and husband Tom of Claremore, and Christopher McClain of Claremore; her grandchildren, Jeff Fanning and wife Pam, Nathan Fanning, Tabatha and husband Kevin, Jonathan and wife Angela, CJ Fasgold and wife Julie, Erica Fasgold and husband Kevin, Zachary Fasgold and wife Stephanie, Dakota Ryan, Matthew Scott and wife Stephanie, Ashley Gelina and husband Zach, Sami Coon and husband Holden, Ethan Chambers (McClain), Sarah Fanton (McClain) and husband Kollin; great-grandchildren, Lauren, Jeffrey, Chad, Brooks, Brice, Lance, Colton, Tyler, Paxton, Jordan, Jazmyn, Jerica, Maverick, Maxwell, Jaxon, Atlas, and Archer; 8 great-great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Edgar, Jr., Joyce, and April.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Bennett; her parents; son, David Hawkins (McGaha); sister, Albina; and brothers, Michael and Lucky Pat.
