Georgia was born November 16, 1936 on Long Island, New York to George and Helen Zimmerman. At the age of 6, her family moved to Tulsa, because her father was transferred by American Airlines. She attended schools in Tulsa and graduated from Central High in 1954. Georgia continued her education at Denton Woman's College, now TWU. While working at Oklahoma Steel Castings, she met John Fleeger and the two hit it off. They were married in Miami, Oklahoma on April 6, 1961 and made Claremore their home.

A wonderful wife and mother, Georgia took great care of her family. She was very involved with her husband's businesses and owned a souvenir shop of her own in Claremore. Georgia was civic minded and volunteered at the Rogers County Election Board for many years. She was an avid knitter, enjoyed painting, and loved playing bridge. Georgia enjoyed spending time with her friends and traveled with many of them through the years. She exercised daily, sometimes walking over 5 miles.

Those family members that survive include her children Karen Fleeger Knowles and husband Tim of Claremore and John Donald Fleeger and wife Pam of Ooltewah, Tennessee; grandchildren Dana Kuroye and husband Steve, Tara Fleeger, Stephanie Balance, Meagan Figg, Jeffery B. Fleeger, Jr., Brianna Fleeger, Greg Knowles and wife Amber, Collin Knowles and wife Nicole, and John David Fleeger; numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Georgia was preceded in death by her parents George and Helen Zimmerman, husband John B. Fleeger, son Jeff Fleeger, and sister Marian Thrasher.
