Gerald Eugene Moore was born July 21, 1927 in Harford, Arkansas to Elijah Crockett and Illa Isabelle (Roebuck) Moore. At a young age Gerald and his family moved to Oklahoma, settling in the Lone Oak area. There he attended school and later met Anna Marie Nunley. It was truly love at first sight. In no time at all Gerald and Anna found themselves on a bus headed for Mena, Arkansas where they married on December 21, 1947. A short time later they moved to Oklahoma City, where Gerald took a job at Tinker Air Force Base. There is where he started his long time journey in the aviation industry. From there he and his Anna moved to Claremore where they still reside. Throughout his long career he worked for companies such as Bell Helicopter, Rockwell International, and McDonnell Douglas.
In his spare time Gerald enjoyed many hobbies. He was known for always keeping a large garden in the back of the house stocked full of tomatoes, cucumbers, beans and anything else his green thumb could grow. He was always working on learning a new gospel song on his guitar to play at church on Sunday morning. Gerald was an active member of the Masonic Lodge, where he rose to a 32 Degree Mason. In fact, he and his son Wayne were the first father and son to go through the Scottish Rite, Tulsa Valley Consistory.
Gerald is preceded in death by his daughter Janet Elaine Happy, son-in-law, Gary Haddox, two brothers, and four sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Marie Moore of the home; children Anthony Wayne Moore and wife Ruthie of Chelsea, Phillip Eugene Moore of Inola, and Joyce Haddox of Claremore; son-in-law, Bill Happy, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
