Gerald Franklin Smith was born June 24, 1930, to Franklin and Daisy Mae MkGee Smith. He departed this life on Wednesday, September 20th, 2023, in Chouteau, Oklahoma. At the age of 93- 2 months and 25 days.
Gerald was one of 12 children. He was an amazing brother and loved taking care of his siblings. Gerald was married to the love of his life Elizabeth Lorene for over 60 years. Together they had 3 children; Terry, Vickie and Larry. Gerald loved the outdoors, brush hogging, mowing, gardening, taking care of his horse, hunting, fishing, and going places. But mostly loved being with his family and friends. Gerald was so loved and he loved his family. He especially loved and cared for his family. He was always checking and making sure his kids, grandchildren, great grand children, and great great grandchildren were all ok. Gerald did not know a stranger, he was the biggest hoot, very ornery, and loved making everyone laugh.
Gerald was a member of the First Baptist Church in Inola, Oklahoma and attended every Sunday until his health issues occurred. He attended every family gathering and birthday parties and he had so much fun at them. Gerald will definitely be missed by all who knew him.
Gerald is survived by one son Terry Lynn, one daughter Vickie and husband Mike Hodges, five grand daughters Donna and husband Jason Herron, Christie and Brett King, Trina and husband Nathan Iblings, Kristie and husband Joe Bennett, and Karla and Kris Orman. Gerald had 18 great grandchildren; Tyler, Trenton, Corbin, Zoe, Rider, Jay, Meagan, Mallory, Mariah, Mark, Jasmine, Hilcle, Siggi, Kendall, Kristal, Kaylee, Blake, and Gemma. 3 great great grandchildren; lan James, Isabella and Sterling Elizabeth. Sisters; Pat Smith from Kentucky, Earlene & husband Clifford Stout from Chouteau, Maryann & husband Tedd Mayfield from Chouteau. Brothers; Willard & his wife Wanda From Washington, Jimmy & wife Ruby Smith from Missouri.
Gerald is preceded in death by his parents, wife Elizabeth Smith, one son Larry; sisters, Fern, Doris, Lucille and Glenna and his brothers, Enis and Kenny.
