Gheorghe Bodrojan

Gheorghe Bodrojan "George" passed away at his home in Claremore, Tuesday, March 6, 2018. He was 82. Born in Timisoara, Romania to parents Ioan Bodrojan and Elisabeta Szabo. After finishing technical school in 1953, George served in the Romanian Army as a Sergeant for two years. He worked as a veterinary technician and traveled with a team of folk dancers to competitions throughout the country. At the age of 27, he went back to school to become a veterinarian. After getting his doctorate, he married Ioana, a beautiful school teacher from the idyllic mountian village of Sapinta. They worked together under communist rule and tried to shelter the three children they had together from the corruption and atrocities of a dictatorial regime. George dedicated his life to the Lord in 1984 and was a faithful member of the Body of Christ, singing in the choir, writing articles in the Elim Church magazine, leading prayer, and evangelizing. In 2008, George immigrated to Oklahoma to be with his wife and his daughter. He loved to read, cook, garden and tend the sheep until six months prior to his passing, always surrounded by his loving family. George was well known in the Christian community and had many friends around the world. He will be dearly missed.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife loana; his daughter Corina Bodrojan Carnino of Sulzano, Italy; daughter Narcisa Crafts and husband Todd of Claremore, Oklahoma; son Daniel Bodrojan of Timisoara, Romania; grandson Gabe Webb of Broken Arrow; brother Cornel Bodrojan of Timisoara, Romania; and many nephews and nieces, all of Romania.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in April.
