Memorial service for Gilbert Ray Tims will be 11 a.m., Mon., Nov. 28, at the Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Chapel with Rev. David Wheeler officiating.
Gilbert died Wed., Nov. 23, 2011, at Claremore Regional Hospital at the age of 79.
The son of Cleveland Rosco and Hattie E.(Turner) Tims was born June 9, 1932, in Vasti, TX. Gilbert grew up in Vasti, and graduated from Bellevue High School in 1949. Gilbert worked as a butcher and horse trader. He worked as the head of the meat department at Humpty Dumpty in Claremore for over 30 years. Gilbert always kept horses, and enjoyed racing some of them. He was a Dallas Cowboys fan, and enjoyed going back to his high school reunions. Gilbert had a lot of friends, and loved to tell jokes. He enjoyed visiting with friends over coffee at the Chelsea Jiffy Mart, and many other locations.
Gilbert is preceded in death by his daughter, Beverly Ann Tims; and his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Frankie "Earlene" (Tinker) Tims of the home; step-daughters: Donna DeWitt and husband, Scott of Claremore, Brenda Jaye of San Antonio, TX, and Susan Liebert of Claremore; sister, Wanda Childress of Sugarland, TX; grandson, Mickey Foreman and wife, Jennifer of Chelsea; step-grandchild, Parker DeWitt; great-grandchildren: Gracee, Kason; and step great grandchildren: Mikayla, Matthew, Mark, and Mason.
