Funeral service for Glen Mowery will be 1 p.m., Tues., April 6, at First Baptist Church of Locust Grove with Rev. Wayne Keely officiating. Burial will follow at Spavinaw-Strang Cemetery under the direction of Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service & Crematory.
Glen died Thurs., April 1, 2010, at his home at the age of 85.
The son of Earnest and Vera (Dollihite) Mowery was born June 28, 1924, in Strang. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII; and in 1946 he married Gloria Miller in Ellsworth, KS. Glen retired from American Airlines in 1980, where he worked as an aircraft mechanic.
Glen is preceded in death by his wife, Gloria; his parents; and son, Justin Mowery.
He is survived by his son, Steven Mowery and wife, Kim of Claremore; sister, Janet Graham of Pharr, TX; daughter-in-law, Shirley Mowery of Goodrich, TX; grandchildren: Angela Abbott and husband, Craig of Claremore, Robert Mowery and wife, Sara of Claremore, Carla Goodwin of Goodrich, TX, Barbara Hart of Houston, TX, and Tamara Landrum and husband, Roger of Goodrich, TX; step-grandsons: Matt of England, and Jake of Claremore; and 12 great-grandchildren.
