Glenda Francis Andrews

Funeral service for Glenda Andrews will be held at 2:00 p.m., January 10, 2018 at the Claremore Assembly of God Church. Pastor Dave Mewbourne will officiate. Burial will follow at Ward's Grove cemetery under the direction of the MMS-Payne Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
Glenda passed away on January 6, 2018, surrounded by her family and friends at the age of 76.
The daughter of Glyn and Ollie Denton Marlin was born April 15, 1941 in Claremore, Oklahoma. As a young girl she was raised just outside of Claremore and attended Justus schools. After finishing the 8th grade she transferred into Claremore public schools. She graduated as a member of the class of 1959. The next few years of her life were spent working for Southwestern Bell. However in the early part of 1960 she met Travis Andrews. They would marry on September 22, 1961. The newlywed couple would make their home in Claremore for a short time until moving to their current home place just a few miles north of town. Over the next several years Glenda concentrated on raising her family. As she got them all old enough to care for themselves, she decided to return to work. This not only allowed her to help support her family, but gave her the opportunity to do one of her favorite things, which was socializing. For several of the following years she worked at convenient stores in the area. A few of her favorites were Lake Drive in Tacora Hills and Jiffy Jons in Claremore.
In her spare time she had many hobbies, camping, crocheting, reading, playing dominoes and cards, singing and telling stories just to name a few. However it was the time spent with her family and close friends that she loved the most. She loved cooking for them. Chicken and noodles, and Swedish meatballs were a couple of their favorites. No matter the occasion just being with her family is what made her happy.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Glyn and Ollie Marlin.
Survivors include her husband Travis of the home, children, Dayna Weast and husband John, Debbie Shockley and husband Brad, David Andrews and wife Shellie, and Darren Andrews and wife Brandi all of Claremore; grandchildren, Johnny Weast and wife Felicia, Johnna Weast, Tisha Bias, Justin and Loren Shockley, Tyson and Trevor Andrews and their mother Angie, Shelbie Andrews, Ashley Burbridge and husband Nick and Ava Andrews; great-grandchildren, Skylar, Joshua, Emmie, Braidey, Hunter, and Kally; siblings, Darlene Harper and husband Keith, Bill Marlin and wife Rose Ann, great-aunt, Mary Washburn and husband Calvin, and numerous other extended family and friends.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the employees of Claremore Nursing Home.
