Funeral service for Glenda Donelson will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 5, 2102 at the First Baptist Church of Chelsea. Pastor Jay McAlister and Pastor Gerald Biswell will officiate. Burial will follow at the Chelsea Cemetery under the direction of the Chelsea Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tues. 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 6-8 p.m.
Glenda passed away Friday, August 31, 2012 at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa at the age of 64.
The daughter of Glen and Willard Elizabeth "Bill" Kilpatrick Ricks was born December 16, 1947 in Chelsea, Oklahoma. She attended Chelsea schools, graduating with the class of 1966. It was also in her home town that she met Bobby Donelson. July 1, 1971 they married in Vinita. For the next couple of years they lived in Shawnee. In September of 1973 they returned to Chelsea. There she dedicated all of her time to raising her children. She could always be found at her children's events. From taking snacks to elementary parties, to every sporting event her children played. It continued over to her grandchildren as well. It was known that she loved to cook. She made cookies and pies for numerous fundraisers. For several years she volunteered as a cook at Falls Creek. Most recently she worked as a cook for Verdigris Public Schools. In her spare time she enjoyed going to garage sales, spending time with her friends, but most of all she loved being with her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents Glen and Bill Ricks; sister, Norma Ricks, and niece, Lisa LaShelle Ricks.
Survivors include her husband Bob of the home, children, Cathy Chambers and husband Chris of Chelsea, Sean Donelson and wife Kim of Claremore, Mitch Donelson and wife Michele of Chelsea and Sheri Gorham of Claremore; grandchildren, Mehgan Fuller and husband Matt, Kaycee Green and husband Kirby, Casey Wooten, Kaylen Donelson, Madison Davis, Seth, Cheyenne, Savannah , and Chase Walker and Adam and Ashley Chambers, Bethany Minnix, and Kylea Gorham; brothers, Tommy Ricks and wife Shirley of Verdigris, Glenn Ricks and wife Carolyn of Oklahoma City, Ronnie Ricks and wife Jerri of Sulpher, and Johnny Ricks and wife Trish of Ridgecrest, California, 7 great-grandchildren, and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
