Service for Glenda Louise Shaddix was 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 14, 2107, at MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel. Glenda passed away on Friday, February 10, 2017 at the age of 70.
Born December 28, 1946 in Dallas, Texas, she was raised by her parents, Lee Wigand, Jr. and Gwen Wigand. Glenda received her education in North Dallas, graduating with the class of 1965 from Bryan Adams High School. She continued her schooling at North Texas, where she received her teaching certificate. Glenda taught for a time at a Montessori school in Dallas. In 1982, she and her family moved to Tulsa. Glenda sold real estate before working at Rogers State College. Later, she worked for SkyChef as general manager, and then went on to retire from Tailwind Inspection as an office manager.
Glenda enjoyed many things in life, some of her favorites were gardening, fishing, and motorcycle riding. She loved her family and spent as much time as she could with them, especially those grandchildren. She and Joey took many trips in their RV, and also with their motorcycle across the country. Holidays were made special with good food and family at her home.
Those family members that survived include her husband Joey of their home in Claremore; her children LaDonna Chancellor and husband Tracy of Bartlesville, Valerie Rogers and husband Trent of Chelsea, Erica Shaddix of Claremore, Tasha Pruett and husband Ben of Catoosa, and T.J. Shaddix and wife Tiffany of Georgetown, Kentucky; her sister Bettye Denoy and husband Don of Garland, Texas; brothers Lee Wigand and wife Franzi of Switzerland, and Winston Wigand and wife Becky of Mesquite, Texas; grandchildren Ashley Zinter, Amber O'Dell, Amanda Chancellor, Erin Rogers, Travis Rogers, Jesse Shaddix, Clayton Shaddix, Ava Pruett, Cooper Shaddix, Katie Pruett, Cheyenne Shaddix, and Jackson Pruett; great-grandchildren Braelyn O'Dell, Jace Zinter, Grady Zinter, and Brantley O'Dell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Gwen Wigand; her former husband, Gary Ruyle, and sister, Wendy Wigand.
