Graveside service for Glynn Pat Lewis will be 10 a.m., Tues., June 28, at Woodlawn Cemetery. Burial with military honors by the U.S. Air Force will follow under the direction of Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Mon. 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 6:30-8 p.m.
Glynn died Sat., June 25, 2011, at his home at the age of 80.
The son of William David and Florence A. (Kennan) Lewis was born Aug. 6, 1930, in Claremore. Glynn attended Justus grade school, and was a member of the graduating class of 1948 at Claremore High School. In 1950, Glynn joined the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Spokane, WA, during the Korean War. He married Dorothy Ann Farley on April 4, 1952, in Claremore. After his discharge in 1954, they moved back to Claremore. Glynn worked for American Airlines for 24 years, retiring in 1994. He then worked as a builder/contractor, and enjoyed bee keeping. Glynn also enjoyed fishing, hunting, rod and reel collecting, and old lures collecting. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Glynn is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings: Arvle Lewis, Yondel Lewis, Bill Lewis, and Reba Bowen.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of the home; children: Jeff Lewis and wife, Kelly of White Oak, and Cindy Walker and husband, Pete of Tulsa; grandchildren: Tiffany and Bethany of White Oak; and great-grandchildren: Alec, Ashlynn, and Eva.
