The daughter of Elmer Bailey and Anna Elizabeth Martin was born July 19, 1912 in rural Chelsea. She was the 6th of 12 children. As a young girl she attended Waller and White Hill elementary schools, and then graduated from Alluwe High School in April of 1933. A few years later she met Lloyd C. Waldroup. They were married March 3, 1934 in Vinita, Oklahoma. Over the next several years, Lloyds job with Conoco took them to Iowa Park, Texas and then to Medford, Oklahoma. There she was very active in the Church of Christ, and the Senior Citizens Center. She also used her spare time to become a master at crocheting, knitting, sewing, cooking and all sorts of other arts and crafts. After Lloyd retired from Conoco they moved to Nowata. In no time at all she was active in the Nowata Church of Christ and the Nowata Senior Center. It was also closer to some of her family, and spending time with them was something she truly treasured.

Waldroup; son, James (Jimmy) Waldroup; sisters, Peggy Rogers, Virgie Martin, Lucille Littleton, Fay Duncan and Helen Santee; and brothers, Fred Martin, Charley Martin, Johnnie Martin, Joseph Martin, Sidney Martin and Ray E.Martin.
