Gwen Guess

Funeral service for Gwendolyn Frieda "Gwen" Guess will be 11 a.m., Mon., Nov. 9, at Foyil Assembly of God with Pastor Jack DaMico officiating. Services are under the direction of MMS-Payne Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Fri. 1-5 p.m.

Gwen passed away Mon., Nov. 2, 2015, at St. John Hospital, Tulsa, at the age of 78.

The daughter of Onis Sartin and Christine (Pate) Sartin was born Feb. 25, 1937, in Tulsa. In 1981, she married Delbert Coleman "Del" Guess and they made their home in Claremore. She and Del owned Del's Fence Company until their retirement in 1996. Gwen loved spending time with her family; and also enjoyed working in her yard taking care of her trees, bushes, flowers, and painting.

Gwen was preceded in death by her husband, Del in June of this year; sons: A.L. Capps, Jr. and Ricky Robert Capps; daughter, Jo Kathryn Foster; her parents; and four sisters and four brothers.

She is survived by her son, Ronnie Michael Capps of Claremore; step-son, Ken Guess and wife, Donna of Owasso; step-daughters: Vickie Ellis and husband, Melvin of Ketchum, and Renee Bailey and husband, Craig of Russellville, AR; numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
