Funeral service for Gwinn M. Greenwood will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at the MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole at 3:00 p.m. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Monday 1-8 p.m.
Gwinn passed away on Friday, December 2, 2016 at the age of 54.
The son of Jack and Pamela Arbeit Greenwood was born January 9, 1962 in Sulphur, Oklahoma. As a young child Gwinn and his family moved frequently, do to his dad serving in the United States Navy. Upon his fathers discharge Gwinn and his family relocated to Houston, Texas. When the time came for Gwinn to enter high school, he and his family were living in Pampa, Texas. Gwinn graduated Pampa High School as a member of the graduating class of 1981. Upon graduating Gwinn began traveling and working odd jobs. However in 1984 he decided to join the United States Army. During his time in the Army he earned many medals and ribbons, He was very proud of the fact that he became an Army Ranger and served in the 82nd Airborne. In 1988 he was discharged and moved to Duncan to be near his family. Then with the help of the GI Bill, Gwinn enrolled at Camron University in Lawton. Earning a degree in business. The next several years Gwinn traveled working in places such as St. Louis and Colombia, Missouri. While in Colombia attending a company Christmas party, Gwinn met Janelle Parsons. They would marry on May 12, 2000. The next several years took Gwinn and Janelle to many places. They lived in North Carolina, Texas, and finally Oklahoma. Where Gwinn worked for companies such as Triumph Boats, Dish Network, Westlake Chemicals, Biz Jet and American Airlines.
In his spare time he had many hobbies. He loved playing golf, riding four wheelers, fishing, shooting and just about anything outdoors. He also had a love for cars, and watching NASCAR. At one time he even had a custom mustang. However is one true love was spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Janelle Greenwood; children, Levi Greenwood and wife Candice, and Twila Porter and husband Jesse; parents; grandchildren, Coby Conway, and David Paul and Lillian Greenwood; parents, Jack and Pamela Greenwood; siblings, Toni "Tuff" Harthun and husband Steve and Greg Greenwood and wife Becca; uncle Dana Arbeit and many other extended family.
