Funeral service for Harold Wayne Lowther will be 10 a.m., Tues., Oct. 11, at the Inola Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Victor Bishop officiating. Burial will follow at Oaks Cemetery under the direction of the Inola Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Mon. 1 to 6 p.m., and family will greet friends 5-6 p.m.
Harold died Thurs., Oct. 6, 2011, at St. John Medical Center, Tulsa, at the age of 83.
The son of Lem M. and Irene (Beeler) Lowther was born Aug. 15, 1928, in Claremore. Harold served in the U.S. Army. On May 9, 1948, he married Verona Lucille Lyman. They made their home in Tulsa, before moving to Inola in 1958. In 1992, Harold retired from McDonnell-Douglas. He soon became Inola's busiest handyman, and enjoyed tinkering.
Harold is preceded in death by his wife, in 1997; his parents; brother, Robert; step-brother, Jim Blackwell; and sister, Peggy.
He is survived by his sons: Lonnie Lowther and wife, Judy of Oologah, Steve Lowther and wife, Sandy of Clearwater, FL, Robert Lowther of Inola, and Dennis Lowther and wife, Anita of Clever, MO; daughter, Kathie Harbour of Claremore; brother, Lem Lowther and wife, Margie of Wagoner County; siblings: Edna Johnson, Sharon Andrews and husband, John, and Melvin Sumter all of Oklahoma City, and Jack Lowther of Coffeyville, KS; 11 grandchildren, step-sister, Willa May and husband, L.D. of Inola; and 3 great-grandchildren.
