Hazel Pearl Smith passed away Tues., Feb. 19, 2013, at Wood Manor Nursing Home, Claremore, at the age of 91. The daughter of Charley and Maggie (Sexton) Holt was born April 15, 1921, in Swifton, AR.
On Oct. 14, 1940, Hazel married Houston L. Grizzle. Houston passed away in 1965 from cancer. On Sept. 2, 1968, Hazel married George D. Smith in Truman, AR. Hazel was a homemaker. After George passed away, Hazel moved to Claremore to be closer to her daughter. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Claremore.
Hazel is survived by her daughter, Paula Lassiter and husband, Galen of Claremore; grandchildren: Julie Hopper and husband, Brandon of Houston, TX, and Lori Haven and husband, Dean of Charleston, SC; and great-grandchild, Benjamin Holt Hopper.
