Helga Renate Bachochin

Funeral service for Helga Renate Bachochin will be held 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at the Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Father Paul Eichhoff will officiate. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tues. 1-8 p.m.

Helga known to many as "baby doll" passed away Saturday, June 8, 2013 at the age of 61.

The daughter of Rudi and Ella Goergens Walter was born September 3, 1951 in Germany. There she was raised and attended school. She later took a job working as a secretary for the Volkswagen Automotive company. It was there in the early 1980's that she met John Bachochin. They were married April 17, 1984 in Acme, Pennsylvania. Quickly she became an avid sports fan. She loved going to watch her Pittsburg Steelers and the Chicago Cubs. The next few years she and John moved a couple of times before settling in Claremore in 1990. Now being retired she and John put more time into their hobbies and friends. Her main pastime was collecting match covers. She and John belonged to the Rathcamp Match Cover Society. Over the years they have taken many trips across the country, looking for new covers for their collections, and she was the editor of the Huggable Bear Match Cover Club. She also enjoyed making dollhouses, feeding hummingbirds, spending time with her friends, and playing Texas Hold'em.

She is preceded in death by her parents Ella and Rudi Walter.

Survivors include her husband John Bachochin of Claremore; daughter, Esther Day and husband James of Kaiserslautern, Germany; sister, Evi Goehmann and husband Ulli of Wolfsburg Germany and grandchildren, Yascha Day, and Caelan Day.
