Homer Lee Chasteen passed away at his home in Inola on October 15, 2020, at the age of 83. Homer was born to Jack Chasteen and Zelma Leo (Carter), Chasteen on July 21, 1937 in Sikeston, Missouri. Homer met and later married Bertha Jean (Dotson) on August 27, 1955 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Homer was a Self Employed Welder and enjoyed hunting, fishing and he loved stock car racing at Salina Highbanks, visiting with his friends and spending time with his grandkids and family.
Homer is survived by his wife Bertha of the home, daughter Brenda Sluka, son Dale Chasteen and his wife Cindy, daughter Kay Chumley and her husband Martin, Grandchildren; Craig Sluka and wife Amy, Casey Shannon and husband Josh, Micky Chasteen and wife AndreaAmanda Thacker and husband Dustin, Jennifer Shelton, Judy Jones and husband Jason, Kim Shelton and husband Matt, and Darla Burgess and husband Ty. 19 great grandkids, and 2 great-great grandkids. all of Inola.
Brothers; Lonnie Chasteen, Bufford Chasteen and wife Tresa of Ramona, Daniel Chasteen and wife Kathy of Inola, Otto Chasteen and wife Janet of Inola, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Homer was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Merlin, Don, Lester, and Roy Chasteen.
A graveside service will be on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Highland Cemetery in Inola, Oklahoma.
