Funeral service for Hugh Harold Green will be 10 a.m., Fri., Nov. 25, at the Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Chapel with Rev. Darrel Cox officiating. Burial with military honors by the U.S. Army will follow at Washington Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thurs. 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 5-7 p.m.
Hugh died Tues., Nov. 22, 2011, at his home at the age of 77.
The son of Loyd Thomas and Luchea Mae (Pettit) Green was born Aug. 2, 1934, in Claremore. Hugh grew up in Pensacola. On Aug. 2, 1954, he married Patsy Sue Rhine at Sequoyah Baptist Church. After they were married Hugh entered the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. Due to his service in the military, he received his high school diploma from Ketchum High School. Hugh was the owner of Green's Plumbing in Welch. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and hunting when he was able. Hugh was baptized in 2007 at the First Christian Church in Nowata.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings: Faye Cumiford, Kay Wofford, and John Green.
Hugh is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patsy of the home; son, Loyd Green and wife, Paula of Welch; daughters: Glenda Harden and husband, Jeff of Welch, and Brenda Yirsa and husband, Lynn of Nowata; brothers: Tom Green and wife, Billie Sue of Chelsea, and Mike Green of Talala; sisters: Emaloyd Mullanax of Claremore, and Dorthy Wofford and husband, Ed of Oologah; grandchildren: Jimmy Harden and wife, Jennifer, Nicole Burn and husband, Matt, Markquis Yirsa and wife, Megan, Crystal Freeman and husband, Cody, Derek Green, and Delaina Green; and great-grandchildren: Kennedy Burn, Cash Burn, Lucy Yirsa, Logan Yirsa, Jagger Freeman, Aubrey Harden, and Tristen Harden.
