Irene Francis

Funeral service for Irene Francis will be 2 p.m., Fri., Feb. 8, at Chelsea Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Billings officiating. Burial will follow at Beck Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thurs. 1-8 p.m. Irene passed away Tues., Feb. 5, 2013, at St. John Hospital, Tulsa, at the age of 92. The daughter of Lester and Elva Grace (Alexander) Taylor was born Dec. 27, 1920, in Marshall. She attended Sciene Hall school, Marshall High School, and Douglas High School. In July of 1944, Irene moved to the Chelsea area from Enid. On Dec. 30, 1944, she married Charles Haskell "Hack" Francis in Gurard, KS. Irene worked at Gateway Luggage, and Wood Manor Nursing Home. She loved working outdoors and enjoyed taking care of her farm and cattle, as well as gardening. Irene was a member of Good News Tabernacle in Chelsea.
