Funeral service for Irene Francis Perry will be 10 a.m., Friday, July 2, at the Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Chapel with Rev. Danny Wiggins officiating. Burial will follow at Wann Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thurs. 1-8 p.m.
Irene died Sun., June 27, 2010, at Rosewood Terrace, Vinita, at the age of 89.
She was the daughter of Isaac Conger and Jeffie May (Burton) Yates was born Sept. 4, 1920, in Stigler. Irene grew up in Stigler, Oologah, and Collinsville. On July 31, 1942, she married Elmo "Glen" Perry in Columbus, KS, and they made their home in Claremore. Irene was a homemaker and later worked in home healthcare. She enjoyed fishing, embroidery, sewing, and working in the garden. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Irene is preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Billie Kay Modesto; 3 grandsons; 1 great-grandson; 4 brothers; 1 sister; and 1 great-great-grandson.
She is survived by her children: Mae Belle Johnson of Foyil; Charles Edward Perry and wife, Joyce of Claremore, Glen Junior Perry and wife, Barbara of Claremore, and Patricia Sue "Pat" Kitchen and husband, Don of Chelsea; 19 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 19 great-great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-great-grandchild.
