Services for Iva Nell "Nanny" Bell will be 11:00a.m., Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Inola Funeral Home Chapel, burial will follow at Sweeten Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday, October 28 from 1pm--8pm, with family receiving visitors from 6pm--8pm. Nell passed away Saturday, October 22, 2016 at her home with family by her side. She was 81.
Born January 8, 1935 in Grant, Oklahoma to John Ben and Iva Ethel (Bayless) Frazier, Nell was reared and educated in her birth community. During high school she played on the basketball team and became the valedictorian of her class, graduating in1953. On July 20, 1953 Nell married her high school sweet heart, Vernon Dale Bell in a Denison, Texas ceremony. The couple lived in several communities including Shreveport, Houma, Hugo and Broken Arrow. Tulsa was home for 22 years before they moved to Inola and this has been home since 1984.
Nell continued her education by attending Draughon's Business School. Later she became the office manager for the UAW Local 952 and after 34 years of faithful service, she retired in March of 2000. Family was most important to Nell and she made sure they were well taken care of. In her spare time she enjoyed bowling and visiting her sisters.
Nell was preceded in death by her parents, husband Vernon, siblings Gene Frazier, Bennie Lou Wood, Eloise Brown, Helen Canafax and Laura Kay Frazier.
Those family members that survive include her daughters Sonja Tyler and husband Robert of Spring, Texas and Tami Lynn Loyd of Inola; her grandchildren Shanon Wray and wife Chanin also of Spring, Texas, Lynn Loyd and Bobby Loyd both of Tulsa and Jeramia Loyd of Inola; her great grandson Bryce Wray; her siblings Norma Sumrall, Mickey Cash, Edith Story and Whitney Frazier; her brother-in-law Bill Bell and wife Loy and Curt Testerman. A special thanks to her niece Dianne Wood Lack and her special friend Janet Seeley for their kind and loving support through this time.
