There will be a visitation on Friday, May 10th from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at MMS-Payne Funeral Home in Claremore Oklahoma. The family requests that donations be made to the Claremore Animal Shelter.
Jackie Leroy Harrison, known affectionately as Jack, passed away on April 26, 2024 at the age of 77. Jack was born to Clayton Harrison and Marie Wagnon in Vinita, Oklahoma on July 25th, 1946. In his hometown, he attended Vinita Public Schools. In high school he would meet the love of his life, Grace Ann Carman. After graduation the two were married on October 12, 1964.
Jack’s military service would begin two days later as he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He valued this service highly and attained the rank of Senior Personnel Specialist. As part of this service, he received the distinction of “Sharpshooter.” Jack proudly served for 3 years where he would spend thirteen of those months overseas serving his country in different areas of the globe.
In October 1967, Jack was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army. Jack and Grace Ann would reside in Lawton for a short period of time, next would be a short stay in Pryor before ultimately making their forever home in Claremore. There they would raise their two wonderful children, Jackie and Jeff. Jack was a devoted father, known for his presence at his children's sporting events, recitals, concerts or whatever they were involved in. He loved to travel all over with his wife to watch Jackie, Jeff, his grandson Jace, or any opportunity he had to support those in different endeavors of their lives. He was a selfless person and would do anything for anybody, always considering others needs before his own. Jack proudly worked for American Airlines until he retired in 2013 as a machinist. He enjoyed people and loved visiting with his neighbors on a daily basis.
Sadly, Jack was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Grace Ann, his parents Clayton Harrison and Marie Wagnon, step-father Jay Wagnon, sister Marcia Wagnon, parents-in-law Dryden and Joan Carman; Sister-in-law Becky Carman, and niece Kalli Carman.
His memory will be forever held in the hearts of his surviving family: daughter Jackie Harrison, son Jeff Harrison and wIfe Veronyca, brother Mitch Wagnon, brothers-in-law Hubie Carman and wife Martha, Wayne Carman and wife Connie, Dan Carman and wife Kim; grandchildren, Jace Harrison, great-grand children Mina and CC Barlow and many nieces and nephews
