Funeral service for James Hanks will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Chapel.
James Robert Hanks passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at the age of 29.
The son of Charles Hanks and Tammy Calhoun Garber was born August 24, 1983 in Claremore, Oklahoma. He was raised in rural Rogers country where he attended Adair public schools. Over the next few years he moved up to Kansas where he attended Iola school, before coming back to Oklahoma. As he became old enough James began working. He worked odd jobs before taking a job with Antenna Specialist in Pryor. A few years later he began working toward his electrical license, working for the Tulsa Electrical Union. In his spare time James loved to be outdoors. Fishing, camping, and working on cars where just a few of his hobbies. He was also very talented working with wood and was always called to help someone do a home remodeling project.
Survivors include his father, Bobby Hanks and wife Idanna of Okay; mother, Tammy Garber and husband Glen of LaHarpe, KS; grandparents, Russell and Faye Rene Hanks of Chelsea; children, Quenton, Brendan and Jamie; sisters, Rebecca Moore and husband Fred of Tulsa, and Amy Hanks and husband Art McEnearney of Claremore, and nieces and nephews, Truston, Donnie, Alex and Astashia.
