The son of Charles Hanks and Tammy Calhoun Garber was born August 24, 1983 in Claremore, Oklahoma. He was raised in rural Rogers country where he attended Adair public schools. Over the next few years he moved up to Kansas where he attended Iola school, before coming back to Oklahoma. As he became old enough James began working.
