Funeral service for James Dale “Jimmy” Messimore will be 11 a.m., Wed., at North Park Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Scottie Titsworth officiating. Burial with military honors by the U.S. Army will follow at Lone Elm Cemetery under the direction of Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tues. 1-8 p.m., and family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m.
Jimmy went to be with the Lord on Sat., May 8, 2010, at Claremore Indian Hospital at the age of 63.
The son of James William and Marjorie (Wallis) Messimore was born Aug. 4, 1946, in Pryor. Jimmy graduated from Sequoyah High School, and went on to served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He was a licensed electrical contractor and a member of Local Union #584. Jimmy owned Messimore Electric and recently retired. He loved spending time with his family; and enjoyed bull riding, fishing, and gardening. He was a member of the American Legion and Elk’s Lodge.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy of the home; son: Shane Messimore of Claremore; step-sons: Lonnie “Billy” Graham and Jim Wayne Graham both of Claremore; step-daughter, Delainya Dawn Hammond and husband, Duane of Owasso; brothers: Tommy Messimore of Broken Arrow, and Johnny Messimore of Claremore; grandchildren: Kaytlan Graham, Rabecca Hammond, Haley Messimore, Makayla Simmons, Bailey Hammon, Drake Graham, Maddison Hammond, Jolena Hammond, and Patricia Hammond; in-laws, Richard and Judith Mann of Kalamazoo, MI, and Wava Mann of Tulsa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
