James Lawrence Rebele

February 25, 1953 — December 24, 2023

James Lawrence Rebele, a dedicated veterinarian and compassionate individual, passed away on December 24, 2023, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He was born on February 25, 1953, in Queens, New York, to his loving parents Donald and Mary Rebele. James leaves behind a legacy of selflessness and numerous cherished memories.

Education played a pivotal role in James' life. He graduated from Claremore High School in 1971 and went on to pursue higher education at Oklahoma State University. It was there that he earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Science, solidifying his knowledge and expertise in the field he loved.

James began his career as a veterinarian after purchasing his first practice, Three Lakes Vet Clinic in Owasso, Oklahoma, in 1987. His passion for animals was evident as he served the community for many years. However, James also experienced alternative paths during his professional journey. He took a break from veterinary medicine and worked at American Airlines for several years following in his father's foot steps, who worked in the same department in American Airlines. Despite this detour, James eventually returned to his true calling as a veterinarian and dedicated sixteen years to the Oklahoma Racing Commission.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, James was known for his benevolent nature. He consistently demonstrated a willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Friends found comfort in his unwavering support and reliability throughout their lives. James will always be remembered for his kind heart and remarkable generosity.

Outside of work, James had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed various hobbies and interests. Four wheeling provided him with the thrill of adrenaline while working on cars and motorcycles satisfied his passion for mechanics. As an avid motorcyclist, he relished the freedom of riding through scenic landscapes. Additionally, James derived immense joy from spending time on boats.

James is preceded in death by his parents Donald James Rebele and Mary Elizabeth Rebele

During this difficult time, James' family remains united in their grief as they mourn the loss of their beloved son and brother. He is survived by his brother Steven Michael Rebele and sister Stacy Rebele Justice. His nephew Lance Chaney and niece Magen Harris also hold cherished memories of their uncle, along with his grandnieces, Devyn Harris, Peyton Lyons, and great grand nephew, Amory Rodriguez, along with his extended family of his Aunt Helen Hughes and many cousins.

Although James' physical presence is no longer with us, his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to have known him. His dedication to veterinary medicine, his selflessness as a friend, and his zest for life will forever be remembered. James Lawrence Rebele will be deeply missed by all who knew him, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and unwavering support. May he rest in eternal peace.
