Jane Lillian King passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2019, in the presence of her family and parish priest. She was born in Willimantic, Conn., on September 11, 1947, to Joseph and Lillian Rondeau.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Claremore. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m., Monday, Oct. 28, MMS Payne Funeral home. The family will receive guests from 6-8 p.m.
Jane earned a Master’s in elementary math education from Eastern Connecticut College and taught in Marlboro, Conn., for eight and a half years. After moving to Oklahoma in 1978, she was hired by Tiawah Schools, later Justus-Tiawah, and taught 28 years in that district. She retired from teaching December 2006.
She was an active member of the Verdigris Valley Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Oklahoma Retired Teachers Association. She was also a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church.
She is survived by husband, Floyd, of the home; son, James King of Claremore; daughter Jennifer and husband Stephen Doyle of Claremore; daughter Kathy and husband George Goodwin of Claremore; brother Paul Rondeau and wife Sheree of Lebanon, Conn.; sister Sue and husband Richard Leuck of Salem, Conn.; sister Mary and husband Paul Combs of Putnam, Conn. She leaves six grandchildren: Kaelynn Doyle, Grant Doyle, Silas Goodwin, Ben Doyle, Sara Goodwin, and Luna Goodwin, a host of nieces and nephews and other extended family.
