Visitation for Janet Ryder will be held on Friday, July 28, 2023, at Inola Funeral Home from 1:00pm-7:00pm with family receiving friends from 5:00pm-7:00pm. Private family graveside services will be held at a later date. Janet passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at the age of 79.
Janet Ryder, a loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished grandmother, passed away on July 25, 2023. She was born on September 23, 1943, in Miami, Oklahoma, to Paul and Winnie (Davis) Seamon. Janet attended Miami Public Schools and graduated with the Class of 1961. After high school, she moved to Tulsa and began her career, eventually finding her place as a payroll clerk at Warehouse Market.
In 1970, she met the love of her life, Wilson Ryder, at a gas station. They began dating shortly after and would marry in 1971. Together, they built a life in Tulsa before eventually settling in Inola in 2000.
Janet was a simple woman who found joy in life's simple pleasures. Reading brought her great delight, and during the fall, she loved taking drives to see the changing leaves. However, above all else, Janet treasured her family and the time she spent with them. Her devotion to her children and grandchildren was unwavering, and she found immense happiness in being a part of their lives. She embraced every moment, creating lasting memories with those she loved.
Janet is preceded in death by her parents, her son Stephen Ryder, and her brother. She is survived by her husband, Wilson, her sister Sue Mead, her son Bryan Ryder and wife Amanda, her grandchildren: Steve Lovell, Chris Lovell, Noah Schwing, Isaiah Schwing, Dakota Ryder, Leah Schwing, Kohl Ryder, and Micah Schwing. Additionally, she leaves behind two great-grandchildren.
