Funeral service for Janice Ermagene Cox will be 10 a.m., Fri., Nov. 18, at MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Denton Hubbard officiating. Burial will follow at Ward's Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thurs. 1-5 p.m.
Janice passed away Mon., Nov. 16, 2015, at Hillcrest Heart Hospital, Tulsa, at the age of 70.
The daughter of Albert Martin Armstrong and Faye (Branch) Armstrong was born Nov. 23, 1944, in Ardmore. Janice graduated from Riley County High School in Riley, KS, and continued her education at Rogers University. On July 12, 1994, Janice married Franklin "Roy" Cox in Miami, and they made their home in Chelsea. Roy passed away in 2006. Janice later married Lawrence Howard "Larry" Smalley. He passed away in 2014. Janice worked in traveling sales most of her life, and also owned a pet crematory. She was an avid bowler and also enjoyed crafts, reading, and garage sales.
Janice is survived by her children: Martin Rice of Tennessee, Lynda Rice of Claremore, Angie Harris of Dodge City, KS, John Harris of Laverne, Greg Harris of Kansas, and Robert Harris of Kansas; step-sons: Wayland Smalley of Claremore, and Jeff Smalley of Olympia, WA; grandchildren: Alanna Davis of Claremore, Jess Bickell of Claremore, Benjamin Collums-Rice of Tahlequah, James Harris of Claremore, Austin Harris of Claremore, Sierra Harris of Laverne, Trevor Harris of Laverne, and Jake Harris of Laverne; many great-grandchildren; brother, Johnny Armstrong of Skiatook; and sisters: Nelda Paulette of Katy, TX, Lisa Colenutt of Durant, Carol Debock of Durant, and Yvonne Seward of Yuma, AZ.
She is preceded in death by her husbands: Roy and Larry; and her parents.
