Pauline has left us to join her husband of over 70 years. She passed away Mon., May 27, 2013, at the Sterling House at the age of 102.
Pauline was born on Oct. 10, 1910, in Owasso to Edwin and Johnie Macy. She graduated from Owasso High School and Tulsa University. For five years she taught school and coached women's basketball in Tiawah. In 1935, she entered into a loving marriage to Bert V. Sutton. Following her marriage to Bert in 1935 the couple left Owasso to being a long and faithful ministry with the Disciples of Christ. She supported her husband's ministry by taking an active leadership role in Christian education. This Christian team served the Lord in Florence, KS, Eucha, KS, Chanute, KS (twice), Blackwell, OK, and Quincy, IL. Upon their retirement from the ministry in 1976, they retired in Claremore where they remained active in the First Christian Church. Pauline was a happy wife with over 70 years of marriage. She lived to love the Lord by teaching teachers to teach while also teaching children in church schools throughout middle America.
