Funeral service for Janis Marie Savage will be 3 p.m., Thurs., July 29, at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Tom Launius officiating. Burial will follow at Oakhaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wed. 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 5-7 p.m.
Janis died Monday, July 26, 2010, at St. Francis Hospital, Tulsa, at the age of 73.
The daughter of Ray Allen and Ada (Baughman) DuRall was born Jan. 16, 1937, in Pittsfield, IL. She attended school in Pittsfield, and later Flagstaff, AZ. She graduated from high school in Flagstaff in 1954. On Dec. 31, 1964, Janis married James Edward Savage in Little Rock, AR. They made their home in Shawnee Mission, KS. before returning to Oklahoma in 1967. In 1979, they moved to Claremore. Janis was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Red Hat Club, and Good Sam's RV Club, Will Rogers Chapter. She enjoyed her dog, Leo, traveling, reading, and spending time with family.
Janis is preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Ray and Walt DuRall; and sister, Geraldine Hughes.
She is survived by her husband, Jim of the home; children: Sharon Park and husband, Kelly of Skiatook, Danny Savage and wife, Judy of Claremore, and Alan Savage and wife, Jennifer of Wasilla, Alaska; and grandchildren: Jerry Garrison of Tulsa, Nicholas Savage of Boise, Idaho, Jackson Savage of Claremore, and Samantha Savage of Wasilla, Alaska.
