Janis Ester Sheeley

Janis Sheeley passed away in Claremore, Oklahoma.

Born in Washington, DC to David White, Sr. and Esther Humes White, she spent her early years in Arlington Virginia before moving to Cincinnati and later Indiana where she graduated high school. An exceptional typist, after high school she worked as a secretary first at the law firm of Dunn & Bradstreet and later at the Jet Propulsion Lab in Pasadena, California.

Janis Sheeley met and later married William F. Sheeley. Janis Sheeley worked as the office manager at his psychiatric practice until he retired, at which point she also retired.

She was an avid reader, gardener, and a lover of animals.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings, David White, Jr. and Carol (White) Hobson. She is survived by two children, Joseph Sheeley of Tullahoma TN and Brenda (Sheeley) Knapp of Claremore, OK; four step children, Kate Wilson, Robert Sheeley, Tom Sheeley, and Sue Sheeley; and her grandchildren.
