Funeral service for Hilda Jean Lively will be 2 p.m., Fri., Feb. 14, at Rehoboth Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Keely officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of MMS-Payne Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thurs. 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 5-7 p.m.
Jean went on to Heaven early Monday morning, Feb. 10, 2014, at her home surrounded by loved ones at the age of 89.
The daughter of Charles Louis “Duck” and Velma (Green) Keys was born Sept. 21, 1924, in Lyman, OK. Jean attended school in Rio Honda, TX. During her sophomore and junior year of high school she played forward for the basketball team, and had scored 30 points in one game. Jean’s senior year of high school she married Joe B. Lively. They traveled all over Texas and had three daughters. In 1963, she moved with her daughters to Claremore where Jean spent her remaining years. Jean worked at Polly & Gayles Café, before going to work at Claremore Regional Hospital as a nurses aide and respiratory therapist for 15 years. She then went to work for the Claremore Indian Hospital where she retired in 1990. Jean loved spending time and visiting with her family and friends. She also enjoyed cooking, listening to music, watching Lawrence Welks, eating Milky Ways, and taking care of her grandkids. She was a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Sam Keys; and special aunt and mentor, Auldena White.
Jean is survived by her daughters: Billie Westlock and husband, Mike of Inola, Sandi Norsworthy and husband, Gary of Sapulpa, and Cindy Lively of Claremore; sisters: Fanny Keys of Wiggins, MI, Dodie Mayes and husband, Clayton of Claremore, Daisy Ward and husband, Frank of Claremore; grandchildren: Tracy Turner and husband, Gary of Tulsa, Scotty Maxwell and wife, Charidy of Pryor, Jeremy Norsworthy and wife, Melissa of Lexington, KY, Crystal Staton and boyfriend, Curtis Davis of Sapulpa, Leslie Lively and boyfriend, Phillip Bowles of Tulsa, and Barry Troutt, Jr. of Claremore; 10 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, 4 nephews, 5 nieces, best friend, Ivon Dick and many friends.
