Vennie Jean Blalock, known to most as Jeannie, passed away on May 18, 2017, at the age of 64.
The daughter of Mose and Revennie Noah Tiger was born August 21,1952, in Claremore, Oklahoma. She was raised in the Tulsa area, where she attended Central High School. There she was active as a cheerleader and in chorus. She was a member of the graduating class of 1970. It was also while living in Tulsa that she first met Sherman Blalock. They would marry on October 16, 1971, at the Living Hope Baptist Church in Tulsa. The newlywed couple made their home in Tulsa for just a short time, before moving to Inola.
Jeannie worked hard helping support her family. Over the years she worked at places such as AMACO and AGRICO, and most recently, the Hard Rock Casino, most always working as some type of account manager.
In her spare time, Jeannie had several hobbies and pastimes. She loved playing sports. Coed softball, basketball and soccer were just a few of her favorites. She also enjoyed Native American bead work, as well as playing games and working puzzles with her family. There was also the yearly women's rafting trip she always looked forward to taking. However just being able to be with her family and friends was her one true love.
She is preceded in death by her father, Mose Tiger; husband, Sherman Blalock, brother, Larry Tiger, and nephew, Jason Tiger.
Survivors include her mother, Revennie; children, Chebon Blalock and wife Jennifer, Stacy Dandridge and husband Eric, and Emil Blalock Tiger and wife Tiffany; grandchildren, Halley, Micah, and Jaida Blalock, Colton, Chaney and Chloe Mathews, Acaiyah Dandridge, Alexandra Tiger, and one more coming soon; siblings, Ronnie Tiger, Leland Tiger and wife Newanna, Renee Tiger, Hokti Daniel and husband Gene, and Tugee Tiger
