Jennie Eulala Draeger went home to be with her Lord on August 14, 2018 at the age of 101.
The daughter of Mcglothin and Lula Elam England was born December 15th, 1916 in Chelsea. There she was raised and spent her childhood years. She attended Chelsea Schools, where she loved to play basketball. It was in high school that she met the love of her life, Carl Draeger. Upon finishing school Eulala began helping take care of her sisters. She and Carl married on April 17, 1937 in Tulsa. The newly wed couple made their home in Chelsea. There they would begin raising a family. However, a few years later, Carl was called to serve his country during World Ward II. This left Jennie at home alone to care for her children. When her children were in high school, she began working at Lowery's Furniture Store. She was always proud that she was able to support her family during that difficult time. Upon Carl's return, they would follow his work to Pennsylvania and Texas before returning home to Chelsea in 1982.
In her spare time Jennie had several hobbies and pastimes she enjoyed. She loved traveling, shopping, and crocheting. She loved cooking; her family especially loved her fried chicken. She was an active member of the First Christian Church of Chelsea. However, her family was most important to her. She was without a doubt their biggest fan. When they were playing sports she hardly ever missed a game. In fact, she was named fan of the year by the sports booster club.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Carl; sons, Jerry and John Draeger, and daughter, Carlene Draeger York.
Survivors include her son, David Draeger and wife Eunice, grandchildren, Jennie Bible and husband Tom, Yancy York and husband Richard Williams, Olivia Castilleja and husband Julio, Deanna Mays and husband Mike, and John Draeger and wife Karen; great- grandchildren Zach Bible, Andrew Bible, Phillip Bible and wife Mercedes, Jaycie and Carson Draeger, Aria Snook, and Madison and Makenzie Mays, and great-great-grandchildren Ruby and Jenna Bible, along with many other extended family and friends.
