Memorial service for Jerry Clark will be 1:00p.m., Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Catoosa, under the direction of Inola Funeral Home & Crematory. Jerry passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at the age of 70.
Born November 7, 1943 in Arkansas City, Kansas to Ray and Ernestine (Seeley) Clark; Jerry was reared and educated in his birth community, graduating with the class of 1961. He continued his education by attending Oklahoma State University where Jerry earned his master’s degree in music. Anaheim, California became home, and Jerry taught music at Dale Junior High for many years. Later he moved to Oklahoma, and he began working at Badger Meter. On February 2, 2002, Jerry married Barbara Ann Elliott and they made their home in Catoosa.
Jerry loved music and formed a band called the Riptides. He was not only musically gifted, he could fix or rebuild any instrument. He also wrote and produced two records. His other hobbies included fishing and cheering his beloved OSU football team. He held season tickets and never missed a game. If you asked for technical advice or inquired how to change the remote control from TV to DVD, he would begin speaking in a different, “tech savvy language.” Jerry was the patriarch of his family and he loved spending time with them. He took a part-time job at Golden Pawn and became their music guru. It seemed there was nothing that Jerry couldn’t do, from music to engineering, he was quite talented.
A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Jerry will be missed by all who knew him. Those family members that survive include his wife Barbara of their home in Catoosa; his sons Kelly Clark and wife Jennifer and Brandon Clark and wife Stacy all of Edmond, Michael Wilson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; his daughters Marcie Wilson of Tulsa and Tara Bidwell of Bixby; his grandchildren Parker, Mia, Graham, Gavin, Jordan, Michael, Hannah, Hunter and Kacie; his brother Cary Clark and wife Jo of Mulvane, Kansas and his sister Teresa Sprowls and husband Joe of Arkansas City, Kansas; brother-in-law Donald Elliott and sister-in-law Susan Elliott. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Tommy Elliott
