Jerry Wayne "Chief" Holman

Funeral service for Jerry Wayne Holman will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 5, 2010 at the Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Chapel. Pastor Claude Strong will officiate. Burial will be at Lone Elm Cemetery.

Mr. Holman passed away March 31, 2010 at his home in Claremore at the age of 71.

The son of Barty and Edith Phillips Holman was born September 13, 1938 in Verdigris. A short time later he and his family moved to the Claremore area. He graduated from Claremore High School. In March of 1954 Jerry enlisted in the United States Navy. While serving during the Vietanm era he recieved the purple heart. He served until his retirement on February 1, 1975. Upon his return home he began working in real estate. He extended his knowledge by attending real estate school and appraisl school. September 9, 1989 he married Nancy Huburt in Miami, Oklahoma. Jerry also was active member of the Masonic Lodge, Shriners, Elks Lodge, and attended the Sageeyah Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents Barty and Edith Holman; sister, Christine Anderson and brother, Matthew Holman.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy of the home; son, Wayne Holman of Sapulpa, Mark Holman of Hampton, VA, James Herrin of Dallas, TX, and Patrick LaBranche of Claremore; daughters, Debbie Roberts of Chelsea, Gladys Gilmir of Tulsa, and Tina Randall of Conroe TX sisters, Mary Ann Wolf and husband John of Claremore, Joy Mileman of Candler, and Glenda Thompson and husband Truman of Arlington, TX,; nephews, Louis Gardner, Kenny Ray Gardner, and Bob Anderson and many other nieces and nephews.
